Other Xr80rp?

I have a dirt bike that says it's a (xr80rp) but when I look up parts, they only show up as (xr80r). Is there any meaningful difference between the two?

Probably so, got it from a neighbor years ago. Odd thing is that the seat has r80 on it while the number on frame is xr80rp lot of weird stuff. Was told he took it apart and it started smoking so gonna go through it and try cheap stuff first.

Not sure what the "P" stands for. Looking around the web, it looks like the XR80 and XR100 were designated XR80RP and XR100RP for the 1993 year models. Probably like BD said, might just be the year code.

Ty for the help, I'll try to get some pictures posted sometime today.

Got some pictures here, the exhaust is off it and it is dusty from setting in the shed for years.

I only sent that link so you could confirm the engine code yourself. I didn't know they sold parts.
I use Chaparral or partzilla or motosport websites.
