Xr650l chain adjustment

If you set the chain slack like it shows in that video, it will be too tight for your XR. You need to set the slack to ~1 5/8" with the rear swingarm parallel to the ground, not with the suspension unloaded. Most people can do that by just sitting backward on the bike. The chain will look too loose when the bike is parked, but it won't be when riding.

Thanks for that! 2 quick questions for you. 1st is where do I measure the 1 5/8“ from? And 2nd how do you recomend getting the swingarm parallel to the ground while trying to measure/adjust the chain?
