450F what year wr450f?

Why a wr over a yz? I jumped from a 05 wr450 to a 08 yz450
The only thing I miss is the low first gear of the wr

sorry havn't been on in a while and because i am a trail rider and i want the light

All the WR's are pretty solid bikes. My dad has an 04 and has lasted forever. I had the opportunity to race a brand new 11 and it was a pretty sweet bike. You really can't go wrong with any year but probably would be best to get the newest bike you can. good luck with your purchase. You won't be dissapointed.

The button is a huge pro for the WR. But then again, I'm old, fat, and out of shape.

'03-4: good power, higher compression, good steel frame, terrible forks. Funky CDI issues on all bikes. '03 sheared woodruff keys if you did not fix it asap.
'05-06: softer power, lower compression, '04 YZ forks (bigger and better), and CDI issues mostly resolved
'07 on: gearbox upgrades, cam chain upgrades, allow frame, motor tilted back 3 degrees, narrower plastics and seat, better overall feel. Suspension travel lower 10mm to lower seat height.

'07 is the way to go. Feels lighter, much better forks, cleaner/smoother running motor.
