What happened to Pats bike??? New top end???

OK I know what it is. It was improper break in. You see as we all know the Rack never gets above second gear. Those just above idle engine loads never allowed the rings to achieve a decent seal so now he gets to try again with some new rings.

Here is a decent write up on how to do it right. http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

Now since this will require more than second gear CDA might have to do it for him.

On a more serious note, I tried this the last time I installed new rings and it worked out pretty well so far. It was hard for me to do though since I was well steeped in the "old" way of break in. I'm a believer now. My first post new ring ride was at Gorman. I pulled up to a 100 foot or so hill climb and blasted up that thing about 50 times before a more normal ride. Seemed to work.

:thumb: I'll take that gold fish out for a walk...

I am having the engine redone so I can keep up with CDA and not have to shift out of second gear. Here is a prototype picture.
