The Rezabergs magic button (AKA: E start)

Alright I need whoever is the most nerdiest of you DBAers when it comes to the 'E' start on a bike. Prior to me purchasing a Batt Tender (did that today) I've been going out to the garage at least once a week and starting the Rezaberg...so far it has started...not a quick fire but a couple seconds and it starts. I go out this morning and start it...took a few seconds but it started, I let it idle for a while while I sprayed weeds...maybe about 10-15 minutes. I turned it off and went into the back yard...about 30 minutes later I came back in to tinker with the bike and get my gear together and thought...WTF, one more time and take it down the street. turned the key, flipped the switch light came on but when I hit the E....nothing, the light went dim and there was no crank...tried several times...got to the point of going in to look at the battery but decided to get a tender...when I came back I wheeled the bike up to the plug and gave it one more try and BAM, it started...WTF is going on????? :foul:.........

Any of you geniuses have a clue WHY it did this ???

I think if your just idling it, that's really not giving it a charge. After it sits for a little while, the battery recovers, and gives you enough juice to spin it. But, then again, I'm not a nerd, or a genius, so if I were you, I'd be getting a tender ASAP.

YOu need to keep it on a tender. The batteries are small and light weight, they don't seem to hold a charge long. For short starts and letting the bike heat up tends to kill the battery faster than anything else on mine. Since I have a rekluse and I hate to kick start it, I keep the battery fully charged!

Does yours even have a kick start? IF not you better do the same and keep it fully charged.

I agree with Timo, get a battery tender ASAP!

In addition, when you were on the switch back trail to hell, you never got the RPMs very high, in return, that's why you had trouble getting it started after your mangina swelling went down.:smirk:

oh, and by the way in addition to Timo's comment. You may want to look into some Cardio training :P. It's tough to be a picture of health like Tim and me but if you work at it you too will get there

Lifting weights is my secret. 12 ounces at a time.

But Rez take note, you can not stop at 12 ounces. You must complete 36 reps in one sitting at the above stated methodology :prof: If you are going to short cut it, you will need to supplement with some of Geeks VOZ's :smirk:

It has KTM blood, enough said. :P. Don't think I have ever had a problem since I put a tender on mine. However I also have kick back up that you don't. If my bat gets below 7 volts of power it will not kick in the FI system and that could suck. Tend it rather than start it every week. :thumb:

you should be riding every week. if you do that you dont have to worry about it.

when i got my bike the battery was low but after the first ride it was good and i have never had to tender mine... i have a kick tho and a couple times when it was dead i just kick started and after riding for 5 mins it was charged and starter worked again.

Rez spends more timing on the ground next to his bike rather than riding it, maybe thats the problem :P

Wow check it out Rez. Maybe this will help you keep it up on two wheels

Damn, James deleted the Viagra ad From a spammer.

 You let your bike idle for 10-15 min? How were you not puking coolant, do you have a fan or something?

Yah, he added a fan, my fan will come on after idle for five minutes. He just needs to ride it rather than let it idle. He should run it around the block and get more than 16 miles on it. I mean, who would buy a used bike that has say 1,000 miles but 3000 hours. :moon:  :prof: Rez, you understand what I said? :P
