So i got this in a trade the other day. it runs really well but it does need some tlc. its a 90 cr125 with a 155 big bore kit, shaved head,wiseco piston ect. ect.

The motor has been fully rebuilt but the clutch wasnt replaced so one will be on order real soon. the bars are bent to sh*t theres mud,grime,weeds,corn stalks caked everywhere and i dont think its been cleaned since it was born. so first thing i did was rip it all down to clean everything.

anyway on to pics... first day

worked on it for a bit today. took a few hrs to go through and clean it all up and got most of it cleaned. not sure what im gonna do about plastics yet. im gonna see if i cant maybe incorporate some newer plastic on it maybe idk not diggin the orangeish redish color goin so we'll see.

Need to go through and touch up some of the paint on the frame... also need front tire this one is cracked and flat. also picked up a set of renthal bars tonight that are going on it. kinda gonna be keeping it a budget build

i would keep the stock plastics, maybe just try to get them in more of a red color. I really like the square shrouds they put on bikes in the late 80's early 90's

Touching up the frame will look terrible, he might as well not even touch a can of paint if he isn't gonna paint it the right way.

got some work done on it today.. and no im not tearing this thing down to nothing just to respray the frame lol. got more of the plastic cleaned up today and resprayed some of it like the side number plates, front fork guards, and my front number plate from my 04 crf that im gonna fit on the the cr.

rear tire mounted back up. gotta put the chain back on yet. polished up the muffler a bit and put my new bars on.

and yes i did tape off the renthal stickers on the side number plates lol ... i have a thing for stickers

touched up some of the frame today aswell... and if you dont like the touch up on the frame well guess what i dont give a rats a** hahaha i think it looks better then it did.

still waiting to order the clutch till i get alittle extra cash around. im always excepting donations in the form of parts, money, stickers or whatever you may have

Nice score! You going to let me it? Don't worry I never get out of 2nd gear. Just don't let Jeff ride it as we both now what'll happen.


A few things though:

That air filter is junk, throw it away before you do something you shouldn't
The linkage will need to be regreased
Same with the steering stem
Drain any leftover gas that might be in there
Remove and clean the carb
Change the oil in the front forks.
I'd probably have Rui do the rear shock as it has to be repressurized
Make sure that the wheel bearings are ok.
Put anti-seize on the chain adjuster bolts
Repack the exhaust



And if you're feeling adventurous:

Split the cases and see what shape the insides are
Replace the top/bottom end if needed
