My son used to ride a RM85, but I mixed his oil at 24:1, why? because that little monster needed oil! I mixed rich and jetted for it... [QUOTE="Mihylo33, post: 103303, member: 408"] Well Kyle... I think the YZ125 is an awesome bike but your lack of basic knowledge for owning a "race" bike has prevented you from getting the most out of it and buying a 250f will only compound this problem. Yeah you may have enough money to get a washing machine to fly but how long can you afford to keep flying it? Lets start with the basics: Jetting... A 2T race bike needs to be jetted properly on a regular basis. I will sometimes jet mine 2-3 times a day based on temps etc etc.... but the following things will also effect your jetting. Fuel and its quality... No 2 pump fuels are the same and Race Gas is WAY different. Riding style.... A really Fast MXer will need a richer running bike than say someone that likes tight single track. Type of Premix oil.... Did you know that different premix oils come in different viscosities? They do, so everytime you switch oils you may be changing your bikes jetting. Mix Ratio... That can greatly effect your jetting as well... A clean Carb and a clean bike... dirty or clogged vents can cause poorly running bike and dirt in the carb can easily lean out a jet... Also the amount of accumulated lacquer in your carb can lean out your jetting as well...... So get used to jetting a bike... Great thread on TT about jetting and I think it may even be here on DBA. Lets talk oil..... I currently ride/race an RM250.... my Factory specs say I should run 30:1 premix ratio of a premium "racing" oil. My premium racing oil says it mixes well at 40:1.....
