RM-Z250 Starting point...

Okay... another question regarding the fuel screw. As far as adjustment goes. Where is a good starting point? I know it has to "fine tuned" from there. I can't for the life of me remember where to start off at. Any help would be appreciated.

1.5 to 2 turns out from gently seated is a good starting point.
Then once the engine is completely warmed up follow these steps.

1. Set the idle slightly high (1800-2000 rpm) with the idle screw.
2. Lean out the mixture (turn it in) until the idle peaks. Stop there where the idle peaks.
3. Richen (turn it out) the mixture screw an 1/8th of a turn.
4. Set the idle screw to the proper idle.

Give it a shot after that, I typically am super happy with throttle response after that adjustment. Good luck!

Another way you can try is get the bike warm and turn the knob in until it starts to run like crap. Then turn the knob out and count the turns until it barely stays running. Then split the difference. That should get you to a good starting point.
