Show Us Your Tattoo's

Do you have any tattoo work? if so post up some pics of your tattoo work, tell how many hours in the chair you spent and if the tattoo has special meaning to you or not.

This was my very first Tattoo and i got it when i was really into riding BMX so that is the meaning behind it.
it took about 40 mins and goes all the around my right calf.

This was my 3rd tattoo and its of my first dog that i owned when i moved out and was on my own.. He was like a child to me. One day he whelped standing up and then 3 days later he was paralyzed in both front legs... i guess he pinched some nerve and i had to put him down. i was devastated till i got the tattoo and it really helped me heal... its over my heart and took about a hour and a half

The latest and greatest is a tribute to the man who saved my life. when i was 7 i was in a motorhome that caught fire. A man pulled to the side of the road and saved my life... taking 3rd degree burns to his arm. Turned out this man worked for marvel comics and inked on some spiderman comic books as well as worked on some Gi Joe cartoon movies in the 80's. They sent spiderman to my hospital bed. IM showing this pic just for the backstory to the tattoo

The tattoo took me 10 years to complete and over 40 hours in the chair. I followed the artist (Randy Janson who has had lots of his work in many different tattoo magazines) from Avalon to Imu and now to Two Roses so only he would work on it. The webs cover the only real scars i have left from the skin graphing. i sometimes get the ... wow you really must like comics and thats why i always tell the back story to why i got what i got not to make anyone sad or for sympathy

Now share yours :blah:

that spidey scene is epic brother!!! :thumb: that was one of my first and favorite characters to draw. i was big into marvel comics, well not so much the comics as much as the artwork... i don't have pics of my tat's at the moment(but i will get some and update here) but i have: red cross on my left inner wrist(that i did, yes i sling ink on the side) i have a black iron cross on my right inner wrist(that was done by one of the local shops that's supposed to be the best around yet my work i have done is actually better :P ) i have a barcode on the back of my neck, i have an ohm sign on my right inner ankle(that i did) a spider on my left hand between my first finger and thumb(that i did) and a sun on my upper left forearm that i did and needs reworked(did it about 15 years ago before i had any clue what i was doing lol)...

Trav,

Some damn good work you got there. My friend owns/runs and tat shop down here. So, I can appreciate what it took to do your back piece.

I only got one tat (kind of small). A tribute to my kids. If I can find a picture I will post it.

* Very cool portrait of your dog. :thumb:

Nice work Travis, got some good meanings behind them also. I have no ink in my skin and will die that way. Just never had the balls and or good reason to sit, lay in a chair long enough for someone to ink me. My other half has a bear on her left shoulder, it's her spirit bear when she was searching for something in her late twenties. I just said, hey its cool. Here we are 20+ years later and she doesn't like it. Everyone is different and tattoos do not change who you are, they just reflect parts of your life and how you like to express it. If she will let me, I'll snap one and show it, it is cool looking growling grizzly. :thumb:

That is an awesome story Travace! Love the Spidey tatto too--the story is amazing!

My uncle was a carnie(and tried out the trapeze!) a merchant marine and then a bus driver for years. He's got tats all up his arms. I beg him to tell me where he got them all, and the stories, but he keeps saying I'm too good a girl to sully. BOO! Yup he's got those old blue-black fuzzy ones :D

Wow Trav - very cool. :thumb: Thanks for sharing. The story behind your back ink is something else. Personally, I have no ink. Well none that I could post pics of - mine just says "Naturaledge" when it's flacid. Of course, when its fully extended, it says, "Hop on the Naturaledge Express". :smirk:

I know some of you have tattoo's ... post some pics dammit...:foul:
My daughters have tats that I am not to happy about, but that is for the "Kids think Stupid is Smart" thread. No offense to anyone on here with a tats...

I really enjoy looking at tattoo art but I doubt I'll ever get one. I just wear jewerly, change outfits or decoupage fenders as my expression of design. Amazing art work you have there! I dont know anyone with a motorhome in flames on them, you may be the only one! Even more amazing is the story behind it. Wow! Glad your with us today!:thumb:

Since you brought that up...my oldest was told by my wife with my support that she can get any tat she wanted (within reason of course..) as long as it was AFTER she moved out...Couldn't wait, got a "might as well be a target" tat on her lower back of a hibiscus flower and some other shizzle thinking that since that was my favorite flower I'd be OK with it...NOT! As I said I supported mom' s decision...."and out the door she went...........neer, neer, neer (George Thoroughgood)". Not really...She's since gotten a small horsehoe with our family initals inside it on h rfoot AND the bestfor last a naked Devil/Angel girl with NICE tits (I will say) on her right shoulder...when she came to show it off she told HER MOM in so many words that it was suppose to look just lkike her (mom)...MOM just about hit the ceiling........had to be there. :smirk:...:smirk:...

I on the other hand have no tats, could never think of anything I wanted on me for the rest of my life but have no problems with others having them. I just don't like the girls with sleeves. JMHO!

yea thats one thing i always tell people... dont get a tattoo just to get one. especially if its a big piece... I thought about my back piece for a good 10+ years before i started it.

ohh and NEVER i mean NEVER just walk into a shop and get whats on the wall.
