The first thing we did to Monkey-Boy's bike was to take the stock rev-limiter off his bike and replace it with an after market one. The stock limiter went to "10" so we figured that "14" should be good. I posted a vid here somewhere but, I have no flipping clue where
Anyway, the point of my story is, rev limiters are engineered to be replaced - if your's says "8", you know it should be set a good 20 -30 % higher. The point is, bounce those ponies off the limiter for a good two to three minutes on the gate - your bike will be nice and warm and everyone in the pits will know you're serious about winning
