Rep. Polis' staff hosts public meetings to review Hidden Gems Wilderness proposal

U.S. Representative Jared Polis' (D-Colo.) office is hosting public meetings to review the Hidden Gems Wilderness proposal, and wants to hear from responsible off-highway vehicle (OHV) riders. If you want to help protect the OHV trails that you, your family and your friends enjoy, this is an opportunity you can't afford to miss.

The Hidden Gems Wilderness Proposal was presented to Polis last month. This proposal seeks to designate 379,000 acres of public land as federal Wilderness, and it affects riding areas in the White River and Gunnison National Forests, such as the Flattops, Basalt Mountain, Red Tables, Thompson Creek and other areas.

Meetings are held at Polis' Frisco office. The meetings will allow area residents and stakeholders to share their input, dissect proposal maps, and address questions regarding the Hidden Gems Wilderness proposal with Polis district representative for the area, Nissa Erickson.
