Remote start for trucks

yeah they make remote starts for trucks, trucks are no different than cars as far as standard electronics goes the more difficult ones are one for Diesels and straight sticks. Most new stick shifts vehicals the clutch pedal has to be depress before the car will start so you have to bypass that system plus you have to leave it out of gear. I don't like that thought. Diesels are very cold natured and have glow plugs instead of spark plugs that heat up the cylinders prior to starting so you have to have delay on the remote starter. You can get these all the normal places. Sears, Best buy, Auto zone maybe.
There are two flavors of remote starting. There have been aftermarket remote starters for a very long time. These were most popular in extreme environments like Alaska and Arizona. More recently this has appeared as a factory installed option.
I believe if you type "Remote Starter" into google you will find plenty. If I had to guess I think they will be available for about $100 and up.

I had a Viper (made by DEI) remote start/alarm on my old Chevy. I paid $600 for it installed. It worked pretty well and was nice when it was cold or hot outside. The only issue I had with was the remote/pager are pretty fragile and I went through several of them. Just make sure you pick a good shop to the install because it's fairly complicated to wire the system in and I've seen a few that were done pretty sloppy.
