125 Ok Quick question What do u guys think? need help asap

I have a 98 kx 125 overall a great bike and new everything but my FMF GOLD SERIES FATTY PIPE Has rust on it how do i get ride of that or limit it as much as possible

I'll give my $.02 here;
First some background;
I'm a mechanic from MN (currently residing in AZ), and have professionally replaced many a destroyed/rusted exhaust system on many cars while living in MN. I also recently worked as a 'corrosion specialist' at VW of America here at their proving grounds near my home in AZ (probably one of the reasons I was hired), so I know a bit about rust. VW offers a rust/corrosion warranty on their cars, hence their need for a corrosion dept.
In my experience, the best way is prevention. But once rust/corrosion sets in, there are only a few things you can do to get rid of it;
1 - replace it,
2 - take the part and have it dipped somewhere to remove the rust, then treat it with an anti-rust inhibitor
3 - media blast it, then treat it with inhibitor
4 - spray or brush on some inhibitor/neutralizer, then spray it with rustoleum.

At the end of the day, it's probably cheaper to just spray on some hi-temp rustoleum or equivalent made for barbecues, or buy a new exhaust.
But probably a new exhaust (#1) is the quickest way.
Maybe some other have some better idea's...?

I don't even know if what fmf does can be called "chroming". there isn't too much saving them. sand blasting has the same affect when I have tried it that sandblasting does on automotive sheet metal (the heat makes waves). steel wool, brasco, and keep repeating it if you want it to keep looking "kind of" how it was new.

I have some, and they don't take paint too well until you have some more of the finish peeled off.

Sorry.

U can wire brush it off or sand it but it is never gonna be perfect. You can try getting something that removes rust(can't remember brands right now metal rescue maybe?). Dip clothes in it and rap it around the pipe the rap plastic wrap around the cloths so it doesn't evaporate off. Leave it for the recommended time and take it off. Degrease and clean then use some kind of header paint to prevent future rust from forming.

ill try that tommorow thanks

if its just light rust then use a scotch brite pad with a kitchen sink cleaner powder and scrub it. Then coat it with wd40 every ride n wash...mud comes off easier with the WD too.
