450F Meet Elise

If anyone in our neighborhood needs a joint repaired I think I found the perfect "saw bones". He has a yz250f that he took back from his son when his son decided he didnt want to ride dirt anymore!!

You hid the NOS quite well.
once upon a time I was hanging out at my favorite bike shop with the owner drinking a few beers after hours, he drank too much, I quit, went to the bathroom, and came out and he's got the fuel tank off his husqarvana and he's holding a NOS tank from a drag bike, I asked him what he was doing, you already know the answer

15 hours on the bike now, I changed out the Maxxis Desert IT that was on the rear after it went flat and I well, um, I raced on it flat for 60ish miles. I put a Dunlop MX71 that I found on sale for $50 on it, and at first I really didn't like it, it bounced a lot and was skittish exiting corners, I have all the clickers on the suspension backed way down, and it feels much better, perhaps it needs lighter springs for me and the riding I do. With those changes made, I rode it today and felt really good, I timed myself on my 25 mile practice loop and did it about 2 seconds faster than my previous best time :)

Well, you're used to riding on a flat, next to that any inflated tire will feel like it bounces around a lot.....sounds like your getting her dialed in now though.

When I do cross country type of riding I usually have 15-18 lbs in a 19 so I dont get rim cuts or bends. I tend to run less preload and my yz 125's have a good 110-115 mm's of sag. it makes them stay straighter for me on the faster stuff and if i need to sit for long it seems easier on me and always has. 18's like on my cr 500 are happier down around12-13 for all around dirt road, tight trail and rocky sand etc. dont know if you see any logs, but you will like an 18 better especially there, if you are like me.

An 18 is preferable to me too.
I'd buy one today, if it wasn't for the real world.

Yeah. It's crazy what rims and spoke sets go for now. I have a klr that I am putting a set of usd's on. I was goi g to put a 19 on a Yz front hub. I think it is going to end up getting a Kosman wheel from an old drag bike

rim and spokes is about $200, then I'd have to pay to have it trued.
For that much, I think I might be able to buy a rim job.

take one you have and play with it a little. they are really easy to true and much more forgiving now. I havent seen a new rim and spokes for what I wanted quite that low though.

Hey flake, does the old guy still run the restaurant on I/40 as you come into Gallup that just says "EAT" with a slogan under that says, "if you don't eat here we both starve"?

On the east end? that's been gone almost as long as the pancake house at Fort Courage has been boarded up.
