Me and My Bike were Born in 1990

I have a 1990 yamaha rt 100 and i have no idea what to do or where to start with this bike.
I recieved the bike bartering on craigslist and from what ive been reading im hearing that my bike is damn near bulletproof but i kno nothing about bikes or maintenance ima NOOB to the Dirtbiking world i need all the help upgrades tips and tricks i can get to become a better rider at atleast a at home mechanic to perform proper maintenance.

Im super new to bikes and i got a old one that i barely can find parts for except oem but even though where do i go from there?

I suggest ebay for those strange parts the OEM supplier no longer carries.

I found a oem site i wanna say motomax and a few that carry oem parts but is it possible to slap newer model parts on a older bike?

I went pass my local yamaha honda shop and picked up new handle grips
Thats was probably the only thing i didnt have to order from a store or online
