Other KTM suspension work

I have been doing KTMs since 98. I have been on the boards since 03 or so. I learned that not just anyone can do a KTM right. The rear linkless takes some KTM experience to get them right in terms of working right. Seals and re-valve anyone can do, but can they do the re-valve right is the key. I also learned that you need to use a KTM specialist in order to get it right as said above. So generally most of the big names are out and dont do well. The ones Ive heard over n over to get it right are EE, Dicks, Slavens, MXTech, and Trail tricks.

I have only used Trail tricks. I have had him re-valve my 200 rear, shorten and re-valve my wifes 250 and now I have sent my 06 525 stuff to him for a 1" shorten and rear re-valve. I previously bought base valves and cartridges and did the front parts swap myself. Should get it back in a week or two. Will let you all know how it works after that. I have been very happy with the wifes bike after it was shortened 1.5" so I am looking forward to getting mine a little lower for my old, fat, short legged, getting weaker tippin over ass.

We had precision concepts do our 05' 525 and it worked awesome they also do all the Baja bikes for honda and Kawasaki. I have heard good things about Race Tech doing ktm stuff

well, Ive been on a 300+mile ride to Nevada and back, done the desert, done the foothills, etc. VERY happy with the susp. One inch doesnt sound like much, but it seems to help my old short self from tip overs a little. Dont notice the difference in the ride with one inch less travel. Works grrrrr8!

:thumb: Awesome, the thing I'd be concerned about is the handling, I'd figure that there would be a trade off. :noidea:

I considered lowering mine when I first got it (I'm not the tallest guy :smirk:) however thankfully I've gotten used to it. Plus like CDA once said "Touching the ground is overrated".

Actually, touching the ground "at speed" is overrated just ask James :smirk:

If you are still looking around I had mine done at ESP up around Montrose and La Canada. George is the owner and knows his stuff.
