125 KLX125 Engine Overhaul.

Going to rebuild my 125 soon... Blowing tons of smoke..Still starts and runs like new..Compression may be low.. Suspect a broke valve seal or seat.

Ordered a Wiseco high compression piston kit and gaskers. Along with a factory service manual. Also will replace timing chain. And valve seals.

What i don't know about is the valves and valve seats.. If i remember correctly i just cut the valve seats with rubbing compound right? This has the rocker arm style. (Not the bucket and shim type)

I wont know too much more till i get it apart. Anyone give me and tips or pointers to look at.

Not sure about your model, but some valve/seats are cut at 3 different angles. Find the exact specs first.
They sell a particular cutting lube/paste that is probably best. Also, Your last pass should be without lube/paste so that a slightly rough surface is left behind. This helps in valve/seat mating. Good luck with your fourstroke...

Ps, Just rebuilt an inline 4 sportbike engine.... You have it easy:smirk:
