All JV Closure info...fact or BS

I recently heard that the reason for the 29 Palms Marine Base expansion is due to an accident that happend not too long ago at China Lake (Naval Base) where "previously unexploded - live ordinance" blew up and killed/injured someone...Weapons training has been halted in that area which is the reason for them to look elsewhere!

Anyone else hear of this?

Like I said, this was hear-say however from someone with Military ties!

It could have something to do with it. They tend to have "no entry" zones where they direct fire. As far as I can tell the main reason is that they want more land to maneuver in. If they have lost some do to some places being too dangerous then that is part of the reason.

It just pisses me off to no end about loosing JV. Where is the "new" riding area? The BLM knows that they are screwed. All the users of JV will just start riding wherever. They will have no chance at stopping it.
