[Jul 13, 2013] Stewards Dual Sport Ride - July 13 & 14, 2013 (Oakhurst, CA. 93644)

The dirt ended with a 7 mile section of pavement winding down the mountain back to the finish at base camp. My superbike brain kicked in and off I went grabbing gears and riding the edge of the knobbies in the corners. Sun would have had a huge smile on her face chasing me or me chasing her through the canyon. Turtle Shifter I guess was trying to keep up and some how, over shot a tight right hander and slid off the road right in front of CDA JR. I hear there may be a pic or two of that adventure...:noidea:

But we finally made it back to camp and it was time to load up, say our goodbyes and make our 6hr (Rim Dent), 5 hr (TS & Red Rattle) and 4 hr (CDA Racing) drive back to normal life... :pout:

Here is #5 Jr loaded up and ready for the trek home.

Here we are getting Rack's rig all hooked up and loaded so he can make his 20 min drive back to his house....

You can see Rack's 450 in the back of the truck, it sat there all weekend and was never unloaded. He should have put a For Sale sign on it as around 75 DSers walked pass his truck at one point during the weekend...:picard:

We jumped on the road and CDA Jr did what he does best....

Well that is all I have and hopefully others will get motivated to add some pics as well.

I want to give a special thanks to Rack and Rack Jr for letting CDA JR abuse his 350 for 180 miles, and the use of his trailer to sleep in.

Thank you to Turtlle Shifter for the goodtimes and constant reminder that he is not an Orange fan..:smirk:

To Sweeper for letting JR grill up some great hot dogs on Friday and helping me understand how to use a roll chart. I am a pro now with this thing, just need to get a mount for my GPS.

Rim Dent for the .5 mile stretch of trail with Rack and I side by side (where sometimes there was no room to be side by side) riding your back fender and honking the horn all the while you never lost your composer. I am still laughing hard from that short battle. Man! do I wish we had the helmet cam mounted for that. That will be a Campfire story for a long time. :)

XT (though he may not see this) for showing us that those little scooters will go anywhere. May not get there fast, but it will get there. I think TS is sold on one for his wife and probably already at the dealer picking it up.

Red Rattle for keeping my mind sharp every time I was following you trying to figure out what that rattle was.....

CDA JR for being my son and joining us on this ride. It was our first DS adventure together and hopefully not our last.

And finally to SOTSNF for putting on a great event. Well organized, great food, super nice and friendly members, lots of swag give a ways and 180 miles of some sweet riding. Out of the 180 miles of laid out trails, we only rode maybe 20 miles of pavement with the longest section being 7 miles. Even though it was super dusty, it was still a great time and with it being smack dab in the middle of July and base camp sitting around 97 degrees, the temps were nice up in the trees all day.

Hope you all enjoy and maybe we will see some more pictures soon.

Can't wait for the next one.:ride:

Nice job as always CDA. :thanks:

I can load the pics to photobucket and you can continue your commentary and pull the pics from there.

TS how is the knee/shin?
It's doing ok. Still some swelling from the shin to the ankle making it a bit difficult to walk without a limp. Igore could prolly give me a run for my money

Gonna call CTI and see if there is anything they can do for me in the way of a replacement.

I have a flash drive of all the pictures Red Rattle took. TS (talking in the 3rd party) sucked ass and didn't take any pictures or break out the Gopro the entire trip.

I would think CTI would work with you on a replacement.

From the picture I sent CTI:
It looks like the damage is only in the outer coating of the frame but I won't be able to say for sure until we get it back for inspection. If I find the frame has been fractured, I will see what we can do to have it replaced under warranty. Michelle is going to issue a Return Authorization for you to return the brace.

They are a local company down in Foothill Ranch about 20 minutes from me. We will see.
