I do have one thing to say- This won't take away skills needed to ride. Say you race? Well this just means you go faster.

That's pretty much how I see it, however I'd say that some skills will be changed/"reassigned". Yes you'll just end up going faster and hitting gnarlier stuff.

seems to me like this sport is going the way of road racing, if you don't have the bucks you're not going to be competitive.

It costs less to build a bike today than it did in 1980. About half the labor to design, and 1/4 the labor to assemble.
Aluminum and Titanium have never been cheaper.
The price raises are due to the devaluation of your dollar, not advanced technology.
