So I just replaced my fork seals on my bike. I have a 2000 yz250. The previous owner had the suspension set up for him he was 260lbs I'm 130lbs. I put the origanal springs back in the bike and I don't know if there has been any valve work done. I had 7w bel ray fork oil layin around so that what I used. Now the front suspension feels way to stuff. Does anyone know what weight oil should be in the bike and if I should put a different weight in cause of my size. Will it make a difference?

a common oil to use is synth automobile trans fluid.....but no one can say for sure if it has in fact been revalved
Using atf wouldn't mess anything up? And would it make the suspension softer than it is now with 7w
ATF runs at a constant 30w and there are manufacturers that have used it.
You should be using a 5wt oil.
Grab a manual before doing anything else.
KYB 01 is the recommended oil for Yamaha forks. You can use any 5wt oil tho if you like. Revalving is not dependant on oil wt or type. What is is the height in the tubes. If I remember correctly, the 2000 250 is 300mm from the top.
