Flashlights... watcha using? Lookin for the best under $100

hey folks i've been looking around at some streamlights ever since a buddy of mine pulled on out the size of a mini mag and lit up the woods brighter than my 3 cell mag... i want something with an AC/DC charger and for at or below $100. i was thinking of the Streamlight Ultrastinger but it only lasts an hour between charges :bonk: heres the specs on it...

•Up to 1 hour continuous use

it's not really like i need something this powerful because i'll just be using it every once in a while for night watching at a camp and getting people outta my back yard but right now i've got a spot light and a maglite that this could probably take place of both.

any suggestions guys? any other brands i'm unaware of that'll interest me?

Hey Red - I just wire up a set of 747 landing lights and they do the trick.:thumb: They were a bit more than $100 though because I had to buy the 747 .....:smirk:

How much is that Ultrastinger? Looks like a nice unit.

Where do you come up with this stuff........you ought to dostand up. Or are you standing up????

Red, what's the most important aspect to this light other than price? size. power. I notice you said to get people out of your back yard...HUH? Transients, illegals, Canadians, ???? :smirk:

Red needs a good source of light so he can quickly and stealthly identify the good places to bury bodies in the pitch black of night:prof:

This Canadian wouldn't be found near Red's backyard - probably step on a Claymore......:smirk:

i keep a maglite in my toolbox... not only is it a kick ass flashlight but its also a nice weapon if needed. Irarely ever use it tho. For the most part i have a head light that i wear on my head its the best because its hands free. You can get nice ones for 50 bucks or less at places like REI as well.

look into the high power led lights. They are very bright like that stinger. Some have low med hi to save the battery. I have a led upgrade for my rechargeable mag light on the way:thumb:

Go with LED lights. Incandescents are old school now.

The best bet is to buy them straight from China. You can get a killer light for only $10 to $25. Most LED lights sold here in the US are these same Chinese manufactured ones for $100 instead.

I have one of these single AA lights. It's awesome for it's size. It costs $11.57 delivered. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3607

They have a ton of lights. Want more power? Try one of these, but you have to get the lithium cells and charger. Get them from the same place. They are not too expensive either. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.33549

For even more try one of these. Same body, but different LED. Not really 900 lumens like it advertises. More like 500 or 600. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.36357

the ultrastinger is about $110 with charger, and yes i need to keep them damn canadians outta my back yard! lol...

ok for what i need the light to do... i need something that'll reach approx 100yrds. and have an adjustable beam/brightness so i can work up close too. I really want something with an AC/DC charger so i can plug it in on my truck too.
