Kyle hints at getting something you can ALWAYS get. I think that is important. I like Yamalube for that reason. As far as your transmission goes, it will be fine with anything as far as lubing it goes. You just have to like the way it shifts and the clutch has to be able to live with it. Any of the ATF's will fill the bill for that. ( you find some who tell you to only use "F" type because "it doesn't slip". Any of the atf's will "slip" less than motor oil or gear oil). Others like 10-40 like most OE's suggest or the easy to get diesel 15-40. Brand won't make a difference to your bike. NAPA and probably some others sell the 15-40 that Valvoline bottls for Cummins under their own NAPA label. So it is probably the best deal moneywise.

FYI Maxima products are excellent, so if you can get them easily and dont mind the cost, it would be a good way to go. As far as the transmission oil though, I just never have seen any advantage to the specialty oils.

Had it apart at least once a year, for other repairs, looks and acts the same it did new in 05. I know it's a shitty basket, even new.When it goes to fubar status I'll go with a Hinson basket, sorry you Rekluse fans.

I just put a new weisco basket in my KX last year. Made a world of difference

That's good to know, the RM is now my second bike, but when I go thru it I'll look at Wiesco, Barnet, and Hinson,guess go with the best price.actually I rode it tonight and the clutch wasn't too bad, but it didn't get too hot either.
