Well, for T-Day i went out to the crows annual turkey run for the first time in my life. Turn out was at least over a few hundred riders and all there family members in addition! So this is how it went.
Stopped by the nursing home for a half hour to vist with gramps, getting a new roomate
Headed down to Urichsville taking about 45 minutes, you could see trucks from the highway. We started heading down through the woods to the entrance, bikes everywhere! Theres still a little drive from the entrance, thats just where the parts store was and there were people parked all the way there. Usually i sign, pay and go to the track but set up was diffrent this time. Everyone in the car had to sign, then we proceeded to find parking. We parked wayyyyyy up on the hill completely surrounded by trees. My dad lit up a fire and we unloaded the bike. I got all my gear on and head down to the track aera, where i stood in line for 15 minutes, went to pay, and then had to go alllll the way back to get my dad to sign the ride release forms. (I thought i already did that!) So anyhow, i pay, sign the forms, and get my wristband, i headed down to the track where they checked it, and i FINALLY got to go riding!
The track was perfect, refaced jumps, plowed disced and watered, and perfect lines, i was out for about 20 minutes and headed back for a break.
-1/2 time, or 3/4 time, or ah hell whatever! About 2:00 they brought everyone off the track, for a mandatory break and to prep the track, perfect, again! I rode down to the parts shop and picked up some grips. I rode all the way back to the truck, then realized i bought quad grips.
so whatever, i got an excuse to ride
I went back to the shop, and picked up some gel-pro grip grips. After explaning to the guy my delema and him explaining you don't have to be a pro to get pro-grip
he swapped me out grips, no recipt, diffrent guy who sold them to me, and gave me a $ off. They costed me more and he was like "give me 2$ and well call it even"
Rode back to the truck, ate lunch and headed back on the track. I went riding another 2 hours and took off, best ride of my life! So far
No pics, heres the flyer though- http://www.crowcanyonmx.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=nEZSh+WHYYw=&tabid=36&mid=350
