Clutch Kits

Anyone have any experience with any of these clutch kits? I currently have a Driven clutch kit and I find it to be a piece of :bleep:, guess you get what you pay for. :noidea:

$69.99 - Driven (Currently have) - http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/product/DRIVEN-COMPLETE-CLUTCH-KIT/?id=101380
$129.99 - EBC Dirt Racer Clutch Kit - http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/product/EBC-DRC-DIRT-RACER-CLUTCH-KIT/?id=101870
$159.99 - Wiseco - http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/product/WISECO-CLUTCH-PACK-KIT/?id=119718
$179.99 - Hinson - http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/product/HINSON-CLUTCH-FIBER-STEEL-SPRING-KIT/?id=118435
$189.99 - Barnett - http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/p...-WITH-CARBON-FIBER-FRICTION-PLATES/?id=117153

I have used Hinson, Barnett and EBC in the past. Not the racer kit though, only the plates. I have never had an issue with either of them. Never used Driven. I have used Driven sprockets on the street scooter though with good success.

I'de say Hinson would be the best, I mean, they are the BIG clutch company. Although I probably would have gotten the Driven clutch, I usually get something thats cheap unless it already is cheap. Then I get best quality, make sense? :noidea:

rocky moutain Tusk

I use the rocky mountain tusk clutch w/heavy duty springs and it has been great for me and at only $45 you can't beat it.
I really love that price and I do have some Tusk products, however I'm not sure about this clutch kit. A lot of the reviews on RMATV said that this clutch isn't that great for MX/hard clutch use and that they aren't the same after you overheat them the first time. :noidea:

I hill climb allot when trail riding and I am on 2st so I have to clutch the crap out of my bike, no issues what so ever out mine, I also do some play MXing and I figured I can buy 2 or 3 sets for what they want for one of the others.

I have a Tusk clutch and I have abused the crap out of it. You see I like the tough trails. The kind where I'm on the clutch a whole lot even though I'm on a XR600. I have seriously overheated it three times now. You know that when you start to smell clutch kind of ride. Smelling clutch means it's getting fried. I usually take a breather when I smell that burning clutch.

As far as I can tell no clutch likes to be overheated to that point. You get a few of those and the clutch is done. My clutch is pretty close to needing replacement. I'd say that he Tusk is perhaps not as resistant as some others, but I still feel that it's a good deal when you consider the cost vs the name brands or OEM. I will agree that it's not the same after the first overheating, but I'm still riding on it.

Unless someone else has a strong objection towards the Tusk kit I'm thinking about trying it. Heck it's $45 friggen dollars, I can buy 4 of them or one Hinson. :bonk:

FYI. I had my clutch apart this weekend while I was installing new crank seals, and the fibers still looked brand new after a whole summers ride on them. Tusk A1 for me :thumb:
