RM125 Air filter question...

They work very well. They are also very thick. I felt that Belray did restrict to air flow. NoToil does not. My bike can also tell the difference between the two. It seemed to run very rich with the Belray. I got as much oil out of the filter I could. It still ran rich. No issues with Notoil.

I use the Belray blue stuff. It goes on thin and the carrier evaps out and leaves it sticky. I apply it by turning the filter inside out, putting the filter against the opening of the bottle and making large dots of the oil around the whole inside of the filter. I then turn it inside in and work the filter with my hands til the blue color comes thru and covers the whole filter. If there are any spots not covered I go back and put a dot there til done. The bottle mounth is about 1 1/4" so it doesnt take long to cover the filter. With this method I seldom have any excess to squeeze out. It alos doesnt puddle and drip in the air box later.

I quit using grease years ago when the filters and cages got sooo much better than the old days. The oiled and compressed foam, between the cage and airbox seal, is plenty to seal the edges. Grease just adds a step and is messy.

Yeah I stopped using the grease years ago. Didn't like the clumps dropping into the air box port.
