i am honestly leaning towards the adventure pants.... waterproof... pockets and they look a bit more baggy but i jsut want to hear some feedback before i pull the trigger.

I am not familiar with the ARC brand of pant. The OTB pant will be warmer than the ITB as it is for foul weather. You cant beat the price of the ITB pant though. Either one will be fine pick what you like and roll with it.

I have a pair of these for bad weather

I like the adventure type of riding pants. Over or under the boot doesn't really matter to me. It's all about the pockets. Pockets increase my overall carrying capacity and put things within easy reach. I carry money, car keys, I.D., insurance card, cell phone, safety meeting items. Any thing that I want to have easy access to. It can be a PITA to always have to take off the back pack and fish around for what I need. Plus, another cool feature found on most adventure pants is being able to unzip the lower part of the pants and ride in shorts. Perfect for hot days in the desert.

well its long, adventure pants hang over your boots making it prone to get caught up, i have seen it 1000 times. when you crash they pull right up and provide no protection what so ever to below the knees. mx pants tuck in making you run "tight", they dont pull up when you crash, you cant get anything past them any where. adventure pants alot of times have pockets and more to shread where mx pants dont, and are made for colder conditions to.

yea i think getting caught up is the main concern but at least the ones im looking at go into the boots as well so i would think they would not pull up like you mention.

thanks for elaborating tho.

OK here is my take on the Adventure pants, but what do I know:
The adventure pants are nice pants for cold weather and all that, but here are my cons:

1. Too Baggy for me as they would get caught up on bushes when blazing virgin terrain or tight single track.
2. Pockets are great, but be careful what you put in those pockets. If you have a get off, harder items in the pockets could cause some damage to your body. Short story: I was running sweep at a race we put on and had a handheld radio on my hip. I had a tip over and the radio popped my hip out the socket by 4" and cost me the #1 plate for that year.
3. Though the removable bottoms are cool, do you really want to be blazing across the dez in shorts?

Again this is just my opinion and it is not worth much...

thanks for all of your opinions and advice. I guess for me it boiled down to i need to have my own first hand experience so i went with these.

because i got MX pants already so i figure i go with the opposite so that i can learn what i like and dislike about each.

put them on and they are nice and comfy. i like that it has belt loops so i could use my own belt if i wanted. pockets will prolly only be used for some identification/medical card as some of the points made here are very valid. cell phone could break with one get off and anything else like knife or other tool could harm myself.

I will report back in after i ride in em next week.

I'd wear those pants ^ if I were going to a rave...

i like the pockets. I want a jersy made like micael jacksons jacket with 54 zippers on it.

Plus with adventure pants you look like an outlaw archeologist smuggling ancient artifacts, mx pants make you look like your going to court or a buisness meeting.
