7/15/10 Triangle Track Braap

So I went riding today...didn't realize when I woke up that it had been raining ALL night, so when we got out to the track it was a mud pit. Would have been fun, but I was giving my old, crappy front tire one last go before I get a new one. It was hilarious. For the first 2 hours you couldn't get any grip. Then 3 of our friends, two on 85s and one on a 250 smoker, showed up and helped us clear the track up :ride: after that it was awesome riding. We were riding from 10am-4:30pm.

Here was the rutted turn where we usually all hang out (right where I'm standing leads back to a little fire pit with overhanging trees so it's nice and shady back there).

My friend Christian on his 125 is pretty quick, here's a couple of him from when we first got there

And I got a perfect pic of him taking a soil sample :smirk: notice the mud being thrown from the front wheel, head directly in the ground, rear wheel still spinning, etc.

And then here's some of the official KTM tool destroying our perfect rut by completely missing it, then just pinning it to try and keep the bike upright :foul:

So we kept riding, I got very acquainted with the dirt on the track because I'd wash the front end in just about every turn and have to fight to keep the bike up, but it slowly started clearing up and by around 2:30 the track was AWESOME! :ride:

So here's a few of me

Almost lost the front end coming out of a turn, so the leg stayed waaaaay out there :smirk:

damm its a mud bogg :P

BTW is this track 1 turn or what? any sweet jumps ?

regardless thanks for sharing the pics dub. +1 to ya

No it's not just 1 turn :P that's just where we happened to be when I said "Oh, I should get some pics for my DBA friends :prof:" so we took a whole 5 minutes to get some pictures. The track is actually pretty long. No jumps, just lots of ruts, braking bumps, and sketchiness :thumb:

 Holy MUD and damn how can you still be using that tire?

Did you guys try flat tracking it? :ride:

Heh :smirk: I figure if I can get fast using a crappy tire, when I get my new one I'll be pretty good :noidea: and there was a lot of flat tracking going on. You couldn't avoid it. A lot of turns on the track are just flat turns, loads of fun :thumb: Unfortunately for me, my front tire decided that it liked flat tracking too :foul: I only dumped the bike once though :)
