Rackster - you bought paint remover for an aircraft.....no wonder it didn't work.
He don't drive fast, he flys low...
So it's ok...

Oh but I have visions Edge, visions of flying op north to visit you. You just never know how that aircraft remover will work.

What size motor is that? I had that same exhaust on my bug, but they were chromed out with a stinger attached to the top.
It looked just like this:

2180 is a sweet motor. I wanted one, but ended up running a 1776 dual port with single carb. Best for the off-road beating mine took. Ran an external oil cooler as well. Those stsock coolers are not very friendly to dirt and sitting in traffic for too long.I was told they thought it was a 2180. It needs some serious TLC. I mainly needed it for the case as a core. Everything else is a bonus. For $200 I said why not. I'll have to tear it down to a short block and see what I have.

Nice, My dad had my 1776 long block built for 2 cases of Beer..This motor was sitting in an orchard near Buttonwillow with a bunch of other Bugs and Bug parts. Last year the guy wanted $500.

$200 is a good price for what you got. You can always check with xquadtard for some sikk engine parts. I believe he has some gnarly race heads he built for his race bug.
You got that right, that is why we got it done for a couple cases of beer. Back in those dad's beer was worth more than gold...Back in 1776 when you were a kid $200 was a lot of squish.
