Any word on what the plan for the engine is?

I would stay with a 1776.Not sure yet. Maybe a 1776 with the heads cut and a lightened flywheel. Maybe a 2180
What I do know is it won't be stock![]()
Back in the day 1776cc was the most reliable.I would stay with a 1776.
That is what I had in mine with a single carb. Dual carbs were a pain to sync. Plus I had a Baja and the off roading would have taken a beating on the carbs.Back in the day 1776cc was the most reliable.
Not bad shape!!!! I would say nice find!!!
Need a parts source? Remember, I worked for VOA from 1978 to 1984 in the Parts department, finished my career as an ASS istant Manager.
J-bugs to start for misc, they have a good catalog! And West Coast Metric for most if not all Rubber seals. Couple of other places as well depending on what you want to do to the Trans and Engine….
Hell, I am still working on my 69 Westfalia Camper I have had since 82 and restored once. It is now going on 7 years PNO. When he is done and it looks good, send him over to my house. My kids are lazy and all they do is look for the hand out...![]()
