[QUOTE="Andrewaust, post: 82689, member: 936"] I'm using a semi synthetic motorcycle oil, both Castrol or Shell in the 4strokes and semi synthetic in the 2strokes as well. I have a heap of oil here and it seems they are no longer doing oil in a semi synthetic :( or they are just not mentioning it. The Diesel Enfield gets Castrol RX Super ..... pmsl . Every single bike gets an oil change between 1000 and 2000klms, depends on the usage, never having a problem. Engine oil for motor vehicles contain friction modifiers that will not go down to well with your clutch, some 4strokes have separate oil for the transmission/clutch and then a separate oil supply for the engine, thinking honda CRF?? here along with some others. Even though many like full synthetic, when sponsored by Castrol many years ago I had free choice, going for the synthetic, but then played around a bit to find synthetic fortified mineral oil protected the bottom end of the 2stroke better along with some other things including oil consumption. Then there was the speedway solo's, just Castrol M which was a castor based oil, never put that stuff in a 4stroke dirt bike either, there is a version for 2stroke go cart engines that work well, but will stuff an engine not meant to be run on a castor based oil.
