RM125 1991 RM125

Great, I'll warn Zach to keep an eye open for creepy old guys that smell like beer and premix trying to break into his bedroom at night. And if he hears the sound of a smoker starting up in the garage in the middle of the night and it ain't me, to shoot first and ask questions later :thumb:.
You forgot midgets or smidgets and porn.
But I'm your cuddle bunny! <3
The hell you say! Gave you golden opportunity to snuggle in the AZ pad... you said NO!

Parts are coming in, she's starting to take shape.
How do I set the float in this thing?
Manual says 14mm +/- 1mm, but where do I measure from?

Also - I need about 4 seat covers. Who do y'all recommend for a decent one?
I want ones that are sewn at the seams, not those cheap glued ones that always split apart.

2nd pic looks right.
I like oem seat covers but on my RM I bought an HTmoto seat cover. It's really sweet and I've owned it like 8yrs now.

Okay, so check it out.
This needle valve thing with the tang has two 90 degree angles in it. In the first pic below taken from the side, when measured near the needle valve it looks like it is at around 14mm. I inserted the black line to show what the rest of it, the "arms", look like behind the float.

But if you follow those "arms" out and look at it from the front, they drop down a bit and look like they're closer to 11mm. 100_2967rz.JPG

This is what got me asking the question, where do I measure from.
Obviously measuring from the bottom of the float isnt going to be anywhere near 14mm.
And as luck would have it, I cannot find anything in the manual or online to verify this.

You should be measuring from the base of the carb where the float bowl gets mounted to the carb body. I don't remember where you measure to on that bike I think it's the float frame. I do know you have to hold the carb at a 45* angle to eliminate some the dead load on the float needle.

So it looks like the RM has just become the bastard child/red-headed stepchild of the stable. (She is our only Suzuki...)

After some time trying to match-up the online fiche pictures and this bikes engine so I can order parts for it, it turns out she has a 92-95 engine in her 1991 frame.
