those sites are usually right... suspension is the #1 bang for your buck if you are upgrading a dirtbike.. the correct suspension for your weight is uber important.

:lol: If not of you are familiar with the RT 100 it is essentially a relabeled DT80... I owned one of these, dont ride the clutch much the discs are weak, keep the cooling fins very very clean, no real suspension upgrades aside from adding more oil to the front forks to stiffen them a tiny bit. I would do no upgrades to this bike, and save your money for a KX100, YZ85, or any brand 125, if you are sticking to 2 strokes.

Get that thing on some trails, it will be MUCH more fun than doing wheelies in the parking lot. You will probably quickly realize you might want to save up for something a little more suited for your size. Congratulations on your first bike and welcome to the best hobby/sport/addiction in the world!

I also swapped the rear springs just for fun. The rear springs are very soft for our weight though. I pulled these shocks off of a cheap little Chinese ATV we had laying around and put them on the bike. It raised the rear end up about an inch or so more than the highest setting on the original shocks and also made the rear suspension not so soft. It took a little modifications but it's not a bad mod to do if you happen to have the parts laying around. I wouldn't go out of my way to mod your bike though, I'd sell it or save for a 125 two-stroke. They can be bought for under $1000 on Craigslist.

It would be better than the RT, but still not made for your size and weight.

As long as the eyelet bearings or spacers work out to be the same diameter as you RT100 shocks and not too much longer. If I remember correctly, I had to use the spacers (the metal ring) from the RT100 shock and put them into the new shocks because the spacers had a different thickness. It's very simple, but it might be hard to find shocks that will work. I was just lucky to have them lying around.
