Just came back from a road trip . Fought mirrors all the way , winds at 70 + mph. Plus vibration kept me busy . Any soloutions , suggestions to remedy situation . Been thinking , super glue on ball ? Clear silicone ? New , better mirrors ?
I wouldn’t use super glue on the ball joint. It may hold for a while, but then you lose most of the adjustment and it’ll be a pain if you ever need to reposition or replace the mirror.
I’d first check whether the pivot or mounting hardware can be tightened. A little blue threadlocker on the mounting threads can help if they’re loosening from vibration.
For the vibration itself, bar-end weights or better isolated mirror mounts can make a noticeable difference. If the mirrors are just cheaply made and the joints won’t stay tight at highway speed, replacing them with a better set is probably the cleanest solution.
Clear silicone might add a little resistance, but I’d treat that as a temporary fix rather than the final answer.
