It's a Doggy Dog world.

my inlaws dog. he was the fastest cattle dog in the USa 2 years straight...

Doesn't look like a heeler since they're either red or blue (gray).. this one is black and tan like a small German Shepard. I had one that was called a Kelpy... not a real familiar breed from Australia... Best dog I ever had!

You're right,... my bad, great looking dog and a TRUE heeler ... looks like it has a tail! But I did have what I learned was a Kelpy.. the pound thought she was a mix of a shepard and aussie... :thumb:
yea if he didnt have a tail it would be kind of a different breed.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Stumpy_Tail_Cattle_Dog. i never owned one of these breeds before as im a lover of the big breeds but this dog "indy" is one of my favorite dogs i have ever met. hes a fucking lunatic but such a cool dog. hes not that warm to everyone but for some reason he always loved me when i visit... since he was a puppy. i swear if i dont go say hello to him when i go over there he crys and whines .

I will prolly get this breed someday.

This is a Kelpy exactly what I had...best dog ever a little bit bigger than a heeler. As for the "Stumpies" (that's funny) I had a friend who bred/showed "heelers" and said that in order for you to qualify the dog had to have a tail, it was part of the breed... the docking was done by the ranchers/cowboys so they wouldn't pick up all the burrs and stickers when out working cattle. Now most people do it because they assume it's suppsoed to be done on that breed unless things have changed! :thumb:

Chili (my heeler) loves pretty much everyone... as for Mx my Kelpy, she didn't like my brother or another friend who looekd a lot like my brother...weird deal but she hated their guts... as for my friend too bad, my bro, she was a good judge of character ... ...

no that is part of the breed. stumpies are not docked. i dont think its taht common to to dock a ACD. at least not for me and the ones i see in the fly ball world. i thought it has balance issues if you dock that breed.
