Breaking in the pedal machine

Ya, ya, this not a "Dirt Bike" but it is a dirt bike just without a motor. So I picked up this new Trek a few weeks ago and my schedule has kept me from riding it. So tonight (last night, whenever you are reading this) I put some time aside and hooked up with my riding buddy and we hit a 12 miler in the hills.

Nothing fancy, but here is my nice new bike at the 3 mile marker. Look I am still smiling.

Her she sits at the 9 mile marker, after this it is was a sweet single track downhill for 3 miles over some nasty rocks and drop offs.:banana:

Sorry I was having too much fun to stop and snap pictures of this trail, But I am going to hook up the helmet cam for the next run and will post up video instead.

Love the new bike, weighs in just around 25lbs which is pretty light for a XL frame. Check out the Classified section for the opportunity to purchase my old bike...
Later,
CDA

Hell, I bet more than half of us couldn't keep up with him if we were on dirt bikes with motors

btw - why no pj's for the motorless dirt bike :noidea:

I hate pedaling, but the more you go out, the better it is. I'm more a downhill guy.
I could see this being fun, if it wasn't for the pedaling part.:noidea:

I took the training wheels off for these pictures. Once I get going, they go back on...:smirk:
Oh I have some sweet shorts, I just did not have them on during this ride. I'll bust them out just for you Rack on the next ride...

I sold my mountian bikes when we moved to Clovis two years ago. Just recently started riding my road bike again. I leave from work and can get in 30 to 35 miles, usually. Road riding is not nearly as fun as single track, but it's better than watching re runs of NCIS.

You sound just like me mooney. I just dug my old trek out and put new tires on it. Today I am going to try for a flat 30 miles, Wish me luck I have only been doing 15 miles a day.
I would like to do a metric century ride this fall.

I've been :ride: mounianbikes for year off and on but a few months ago '' like a dumm ass" i left my garage door open and some old fucker stold it. So now :ride: ing moto's is all i have been doing, but I would like to get another bike with pedals:banana: nice bike by the by:thumb:

We should get all the goobers together and do our own century. When we lived up north I was riding quite a bit. 100 to 150 miles a week. Not that much to some but to us old folks not bad. Did a LOT of mountain bike riding living in the Auburn area. Since moving here with the new plant, I've put on 40 lbs in the last 20 months. If I can ever figure out how to post pics I'll post some of my son in law. He rides A LOT!!! He also rides with some pretty good riders. One has won the TDF 7 times.
