Desert pics, kind of a time warp, and the new trail markers decoded

Cooler weather is just around the corner, meaning the beginning of the desert riding season (for most), so some photos to wet your appetite.
Starting outside of Kramer

Getting hungry, decided to cut through the big city to get back to camp, felt like a flashback in time

Found a mine, considering I was about 5 miles from the truck, which was 5 miles from pavement, decided not to press my luck, will explore some other time

I shouldn't be posting this top secret photo of the Cal City missile prototype, but I think all of you can be trusted. Still in the development stage, give it a few years...

In the past, I have posted about the blitzkrieg of trail markers going up in the desert, they are everywhere, not just main trails, even rarely used stuff way out there. They could just as easily be trail closed markers, so guess I should not complain.
But there are lots of them, possibly leading to some confusion, so...
Let's say you are on 5302
9-19-28.jpg

Do not confuse this with 5302A
9-19-29.jpg

Confusing these two could mean you end up on 5302B
9-19-30.jpg

We don't want that to happen.
I know what you are thinking, "hey Agent, I don't need to follow any stinkin' signs!" In that case, disregard 5302, 5302A and 5302B. Use 5302C, this will bypass the previous noted trails.

Hope this helps ease some of the confusion, feel free to ask any questions if this does not make any sense.
See you on the trails.

Letters on the trails just mean different quadrants of land and direction. FP is for Fremont Peak yes? However, most are marked N,S,E and W. WTF is with ABCD? I am going to scratch my head on that for a minute or two... Hope to see you on the Dez trails soon...

The suffix lettering (ABCD) is usually done on spur roads of the main. The usually don't connect to any other designated route and are usually pretty short. In the desert they go to places like mines.

Like I said that is how they are normally used. I know of a few exceptions.

You were that class to a mystery meat sandwhich, and went back to camp? :smirk:
Had one for breakfast on the way up, I don't think it's wise to eat more than one of those a day.

Was out there myself this weekend but not to ride... Weather was nice but still a bit hot during the day.:prof: Nice pics Ricky.:thumb:
Yes, little warm during the day, at night it was awesome. Were there lots of people there during the weekend? Only about a half dozen riders on Monday.

Nobody.

Depending on weather conditions, I am certainly going to head up there for a day trip around that time. Day trip for me would be Kramer area and ride that area like these pictures.
