All Saw alot of Pismo talk in chat...

So who would be in for a trip? Its been a while since i've gone and ridden but i've taken my truck alot and it does great out there... :ride:

i have never been so maybe someone can tell me what the camping is like there ? is it designated spots like a campsite or is it just pull up wherever and camp ?

I really want to take my family camping this summer and as soon as ai get a paddle set up i would love to do pismo. I think my wife said something about you need to make reservations?

I think Pismo has a Red Sticker season. You may want to look into that before you head out there.

Pismo is year round red sticker and as far as the camping it's pull anywhere... Just make sure your high enough for high tide. No reservations are needed except on big weekends.

As for paddles you don't really need them just run 6 & 6 in your tires and you'll float all over. All you need is a flag, which you can get there, for your bike and truck if you want to drive it in the dunes. I don't know if you've had dune experiance or not but I've been driving them since I was 6 so if your fam wants to ride I can take them around in my truck and scare them more than any rollar coaster :thumb:

my truck is not 4x4 but i use to take it to glamis all the time... drive till i find a spot or get stuck and thats where i camp :P then when its time to go home i get people to jump on the back and get unstuck hehe. also 6&6 is a type of dirt tire?

and im not real sure about the kids with you driving them  they are not even out of car seats yet

Redswr is looking for a date. DO NOT ALLOW HIM TO DRIVE YOUR KIDS ANYWHERE :prof::smirk::smirk::smirk:

Ouch... :smirk:

I was refering to 6psi in the tires. Some people like the front at 12 but if your new to sand the less the better...

actually the first time i ever rode a dirt bike was at glamis. I was noob as **** and this was even before i got into BMX so i had no clue. The way it happend was we had this one buddy who was stingy as all hell about letting anyone ride his bike. As sort of a joke i said hey let me ride your bike... he quickly said SURE!!! i was shocked but i had to do it even tho i had no idea wtf i was doing.

The advice that gave me was ... if you feel like you are getting squirly hit the gas. So i tried that but apperently i was riding on the tank  i hit the gas and got MORE squirlly  i kept it up but i did notice people in RV's on Geko rd standing up and pointing at me as if they wanted to show their buddys " look at this idiot whos about to eat shit"

Did you guys end up making it out to Pismo this summer? If so, where are the pics? I've been wanting to hit up Pismo for a long time but it's a long ass drive for me.

nah i made it a few times but havn't taken the bike out there in a couple years... i've been down cause of money and my wrist but my dad wanted me to take my truck when they drove the motorhome so we could play a little in the dunes. I don't think it'd be worth the drive just for the riding but it is the beach and great to just hang out if you could spend a week or so there. Let me know if you plan on a trip i'll try to make it

I'll let you know if I ever head that way. It's like a 13 hour drive for me though and Glamis is only 2.5 hours so I'm kind of doubting I will ever make it. Unless my buddies decide they want to make a trip and we can all split gas. I haven't ever heard anything very good about the riding there though.

yeah it's pretty much just a vacation site with some riding thrown in... if you get bored of the riding just kick back in your lawn chair and watch the waves and quardtards...lol

i usually get there and ride the perimeter and then just start from the back and head towards the ocean lining up jumps... all the dunes drop off going away from the ocean

That makes it kind of nice knowing which way all the dunes drop off. I've almost killed myself a few times at Glamis. lol
