looking at a couple plated KTM's... which one though?

well i found a couple bikes in the Camera Ads that i'm interested in if i can sell my bike for what i want... both are older than mine so hopefully i can get enough for mine and have a little left over to pay bills.

Bike 1: 2000 KTM 300exc in supposibly mint condition and alot of extras for $3,000
Bike 2: 2003 KTM 520exc 6 speed mint with desert tank and many extras for $3,200

they both have plates which i really want so i can save on gas but i'm worried about the longevity of the 300 2t on the street and if the 520 needs a top end i'm screwed buying it, the 300 not so much. The prices look a little steep to me seeing as the most i've ever got offered for mine was $2,500 but if i can get the $3,500 i want it would be great.

What do you guys think?

I think its a bad plan to think you are going to save on gas or $ by riding a plated dirt bike on the street. You are just going to chew stuff up.....

and get tickets... :smirk: What are you meaning by chew stuff up? Just tires or something else?

Sell Blue, and buy Orange? :picard:  :bonk: I hope you get enough for the WR to bank a few dollars for parts to go along with the purchase of the Katoom.:noidea: As you can tell I'm not a orange fan. In my mind, you just can't beat the reliability of a WR. :prof:

:lol::lol::lol::lol:Not like that here in Californiastan. I agree with Tim all the way BTW.

I know Orange, and Red are 2 different colors, but after my Bros X let go, and he found all his problems, I started hearing noises in mine. After stripping it down, and taking measurements, my cylinder was spot on (not ovaled or tapered), and all the connecting rod measurements were perfect also. I don't know of any other brand that could say that after 8000 miles.:thumb:
