RR - Rowher Flats (Texas Canyon) - 1/8/2011

Ride Report - Rowher Flats (Texas Canyon) - 1/8/2011

a fun ride. 33.5 miles

Patches of snotty mud puddles made for fun.

There was 10 of us. as far as names. We had Roger, Andy, Joe, Matt, Ron, a couple of Bills and three Steve's..

Staged at Bouquet trailhead. went up bouquet, across the sierra Pelona, hitting the side shoots. down Rowher, around the buffer loop, spring. checked out the boatload of Jeeps at stagin area one. across flat, texas, and what not over to Silver king. across the silver king, up Falls. across sirerra and ridge bypass, the switchbacks were fun. going up fall seemed a bit easier than the last time I went up. went back across the sierra pelona again hitting side shoots to Bouquet, and back down.

It was nice seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

We must do it again.. in fact, we are..

Is this area open for red sticker bikes as well as street legal bikes. My son has the 150r with spark arrestor. From the videos it looks like a fun place to ride.

can we get a pic of where your chesty is sitting? i jsut got one and the first time i used it it seemed to be really low and all you really see is handlebars in my vid.

Do you like this setup? The only thing I might not like is landing on it :cripple:, guess have to make sure to wear a decent chest protector underneath. Which brings up the question, what's that poking up on your shoulders and back?

:thumb: Very good choice, lets just hope that you'll never actually need it.
I wore it yesterday, and didn't even notice it was on, except I couldn't easily see my camera if it was on or off. LOL. usually I would look down to see the red light.

I had to buy one once I heard from an outlaw (in-laws inlaw) that his son and a buddy were riding a week or so ago, the friend hit a dog, killed the dog, flew off his bike, broke his collar bone, and the emergency room doc stated the leatt probably save his life..

so.. I spent the big bucks on the leatt and will get my asterick braces in a couple of weeks.

As you probably well know I can relate to that, which is why I've been so vocal about neck braces since. (I was wearing a Leatt)

Also very good choice on the Asterisk Knee Braces, another piece of gear I always wear. :thumb: These took a little longer to get used to though, however that could partly be because my knees are sensitive to touch.

BTW if you're buying your braces online don't forget this.
