All Christmas & New Years in Ocotillo Wells: Dec 26-31 2011

The wife and I and some RIDERS will be in Ocotillo Wells the day after Christmas thru New Years Eve... or whenever the fun runs out. We'll be riding to some other buddy's camps near Superstition... and the single track in the mud hills south and north of the park.

This is typically a relaxed trip... it's pretty quiet out there until the weekend of New Years. And the weather is gonna be GREAT ! Best place to ride in winter.

You all are welcome for the week or a day. RSVP for trip details and specifics.

See you there ! Bring a tree for the fire if you like.

Don't feel bad... I found out after I left early do to blown up bike that I was in the wrong spot anyway ! HAHAHAHAHAHA You would have seen our group but I was at the wrong pit.

So who all is coming to Ocotillo anyway ? Anyone that wants to camp with us thats cool. I have plenty of room. The more the merrier cause I'll just tape off the whole cove for our group if we have enough campers. Riding groups will be kept small. But camp can be huge. Just looking for good peeps. :thumb:

maybe i can come out... not too far for me. even if its jsut for the day to meet some more people. Let me know info on where exactly you will be and ill try to make it out.

Trav and wingnut. As for now, looks like my family and I,Timo,Rolls and family. I heard tails of the geek and guys coming down but nothing since.Timo likes to go to poleline,we generally are off of gas dome as it seems to be pretty quite. I'm up for where ever and Tim mentioned he'd try our spot. We'll see and I don't mind either way. We'll let ya know.
I was hoping to get out Christmas eve but with the wifes dad passing we will probably have xmas with her mom and go out Sunday.Wingnut I have to get directions to your camp so I can find you guys and stop by to say hi or do you have signs that say riders ? I probably asked every camp last time except on the South side of County line if they were with riders.org and never found ya. Ran into some real friendly folks though. NOT!

Anyway thats the scoop.

There is a Google link in the first post... but for the Google challenged here are some old fashioned directions:

33.13712,-116.068754

Coming from the WEST turn off is 5.8 miles from Ranger Station...
or 3.7 miles from Split Mountain Rd.

Coming from the EAST turn off is 12.5 miles from Hwy 86...
or 1.6 miles from Blu Inn.

RIDERS sign at the road. Follow the dirt path NORTH approx 1/4 mile off of Hwy 78. It drifts left away from the long dirt burm on your right as you are heading to camp.

:prof: You'll find Google direction to all of our rides with GPS coords within a couple feet of camp. Just clicky clicky.

Would love to get in on one of your campouts if you guys are around the Mojave in January.

Check out "canucks coming to the desert".

Steve

Hey Steve

We ride everywhere... based on the best conditions available. Our group events Dec through Feb move south into the low desert because the Mojave experiences below freezing overnight weather. When you live here, blistering cold is not comfy... especially when we have better alternatives.

BUUUUUT... we are not all Lemmings and some of our group will be riding up there I am sure. Shoot me an email through the RIDERS site and I'll send you an Honorary RIDERS-CANUCK login so you can stir up some riding buddies for your trip. I know I'd come meet you... as would others. :thumb:

Yolanda and I will be heading out MONDAY... not Sunday.

I need to drop off a quad at Temecula Motorsports for Warranty problem and it's on the way so Monday it is. Should be in Ocotillo for a late lunch.

Merry Christmas peoples !
