A Trip to C-City

After 5 long months of my ride sitting on the stand, I finally got to get out and :ride: Me n my Bro hit the road at 6:00 AM on Sunday for what I hoped to be a mellow day.

Breakfast in the high desert at 7:00

This place has killer breakfast burritos :thumb:

Back on the road, 45 minutes later, we arrived at the staging spot.

The bike all ready to go.

We got on the bikes, and struck out towards Inscription Canyon. After talking to Big Dan on chat about it, I figured we could start the day with another visit. The first stop came pretty quick to readjust my shifter, and shed some clothes.

I wonder if a certain DBA'er would recognize this wash entrance.

Back on the trail we came across a huge out cropping of white rock. So I climbed on up to check out the view.

It was pretty cool up there.

More to follow....

:thumb: That is great Timo. I bet it felt great getting that thing off the stand. You were starting to be too much like me... Waiting for more...

From there, I made a wrong turn and ended up back in the same valley we staged from.:bonk:
Once there we stopped at the old prospectors place.

He lived quite a few years. I wonder if he ever found anything of any value.:noidea:

From there we improvised our way towards Inscription.
Crossing the lakes we came across this huge fishing weight.
100_2564.jpg

That thing was all aluminum, bolted on a steel frame, that was sunk into the lake bed. I wish I knew what the hell it is.:noidea:

From there it was a short ride to the petroglyphs. They have recently upgraded the fence, and put up a new sign.:thumb:

A few shots of the 14,000 year old drawings.

Heading back towards the truck for a little more gas and lunch, we stopped in this cool little valley. I know the pictures don't do it justice, but still really cool.

The only other shot I got, was after lunch dropping down a hill to a wash.

It was a short day of only about 110 miles, but with my Brother on my ass all day, and being so out of shape, we called it a day around 4:00, and headed for home. It was really great to smell the Dez again.:thumb:

That thing is called a corner reflector. Same thing as a reflector on your car, but it works with radar signals instead of light.

So where was it?

Great to hear you riding again and got you bike back together. Hope to see you guys Tday week. Was that entrance to the canyon where my ass slide was? Always wondered how to get to it from the south. Do you have the GPS coords?

I should be more like you. We got back to the truck, and I had to sit on the truck gate because I didn't bring a chair.

More Tim, how long does it take? Geez :picard:

Dam, that was fast! LOL

Sorry, sometimes work calls. :noidea:

In the desert.

Did you change the color on your bike? At least your tank?

Are you kidding? I'm too cheap to buy new plastic.:picard:

thanks for the invite I really enjoyed the ride :moon::P

You wouldn't have liked it, it was mostly sand wash and fire road. :P

Outstanding pics Timo :thumb: Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. Are you still heading down this way in January? I do have a itch to get to OW.

Not quite as full as your reports, but I'm a little rusty.:busted:

I know this hard to grasp, but this isn't near Prospectors camp.:smirk:

Do you have the GPS coords?

I do love that area up there, so yes, thanks for the idea. That would be a nice ride Turkey Day. I just might have to show up and tag along. :ride:

I do go other places you know Tim.:smirk: Have ridden Cal City and LPNF already. Spangler only once and it wasn't even Prospectors. You would be proud.
