450F Engine Build

I'm starting from scratch on an engine build. I'm trying to figure out if I could just buy a complete engine rebuild (wrench rabbit rebuild kit (with piston and seals for engine case)) for a 2012 crf450r and put it in a brand-new crankcase. Again, starting from scratch meaning buying everything that goes in an engine down to the last nut bolt and wire. And before it's said yes, I know it's going to be expensive, but I have a thing for this kind of stuff. I'd rather build one from scratch than find a running one that I know nothing about.
Thanks in advance.

Howdy,
Either way the parts fiches on the motorcycle parts websites are a great breakdown of the components required.
Do you not have an engine at all, just a rolling chassis?

Rough... I would find a donor bike or check out eBay. There are cases, transmissions, new cylinders/pistions, heads, covers, and entire engine rebuild kits.
Might get quite expensive this way.

I already know it will be expensive but working on small enignes like this is something I enjoy doing this whole build is just a lil project to keep me busy through the winter months. Plus i wanna know what i have in the bike and what's been done to it as appose to buying an engine and not knowing if everything was done right. not saying anything about other mechanics or nothing like that im just picky when it comes to a bike. Like if it starts leaking oil i immediately try and fix it i dont wait for it to get worse over time and fix it later. If its missing a bolt in the plastics im gonna put a oem bolt back in it or ill put a bolt almost like it in its place.
