Other 1985 XL250R Plastics

Hi All,

I am trying to find a plastics kit for my 1985 XL250R. I really only need the side covers however they are as rare as rocking horse poo or people want exorbitant prices for second hand ones and then pay just as much in postage.

Does anyone know if any other XL/XR model side covers will fit, i.e. will an XL/XR350 fit etc. (first picture is 350, second is 250)

Or, does anyone know where I can purchase a pair for a reasonable price and postage. I am in Australia and I don't mind waiting for them.

Bro try DC plastics. They have a ever increasing of vintage bike plastic kit stocks. www. dcvmx.com, there are some bone yards round these parts that might have some second hand plastics, Mr. Motorcycle. com, in FTWTH Texas, Ufo, and Mayer plastics may have some, and I hear tell of a newer plastic motorcycle company in Aridzona called VMX, same as your mag that sells em', Hope this helps, Hondabro...Beavis-and-Butt-Head-Season-8-Episode-2-Daughter-s-Hand-Tech-Support.jpg Yeup...

Just an update on the plastics...

Firstly, thanks guys for your input. I spent hours trolling through those sites, sending emails and not getting many replies however those that did reply either couldn't help or answer my questions.

I eventually found some side covers from a source in NSW, Australia (www.maxwellmotorsports.com.au) which were suited to the XL rather than the XR, again no one could tell me if they were the same. Alistair, who runs Maxwell Motor Sports, said that he had them in black or white so if anyone else wants a set of side covers at a reasonable price (I paid $150AUD + $25AUD postage NSW to WA, Australia) the maybe Maxwell Motor Sport might be an avenue to take.
