How do you guys keep yourselves hydrated on the trails? The reason I ask is will I need to get something for the DBA ride? Or are we not going further out then a 1/4 mile from camp?
Let the flaming begin. I personally hate camelbacks (only guys on my back when I get ridden), but hydration is critical especially when it is warm. I have a pack on my back fender that holds three 17 oz water bottles. That is sufficient for most cooler weather rides. But if it is hot, that doesn't cut it. You will definitely need something James. But temps will be pleasant and might be even cold for TDay week.
Over labor day weekend (temps in the low 100's), I hydrated before but was still cotton mouthed after only 5-10 minutes. In the winter, I might not even go thru more than one bottle in a 2 hour ride. Hope this helps.
BTW, a mile from camp is more like it.
Ah yes it begins. I just fill mine with tequila.I think what Geek is trying to say is he does not like water on his back so people don't think he is a wet back. But he does like other things on his back. In fact spooning is a specialty.
Now, back to the subject. I love the camel back that I have and I am still moving into my Ogio Vest. 100 oz is usually enough for a day ride of 60 to 100 miles.
Get a room will ya.Dam, I LOVE YOU BRUCE!
Ok so it looks like a hydration pack of some sort is necessary, what are some good ones and how many oz should I get?

I do and don't like the camel backs. I use getting a drink a time to get off the bike let the nerves cool and give your self a break. A camel back encourages you to keep pushing. I like to ride for 30 minutes to an hour and stop. Take a break. Were we ride its pretty dusty and those camel back mouth pieces get kinda muddy and nasty. I prefer just stopping and taking a break. I know that may be a problem for you moto guys cause you have to try to find one of our trail bikes to support yours but hey its all good. We are use to supporting your wanna be trail bikes.
