I've had to shelve dirt scootering for a while, to werk on this old house. What started out to be a cast iron drain replacement to the up stairs, has ended up to be a major pain un the ass. There was also an old packaged A/C unit over the bathroom, that didn't work, and leaked when it rained. So looking at the attic, with a little work, which ended up to be a lot, I could get a fan unit there, and eliminate the roof penetration nightmare. First I redid the electrical, and eliminated the old knob & tube crap. Then insulation, and a 3/4" plywood floor gave me an area for the fan unit. Then the removal of the flat roof, to replace it with a gable roof to give access clearance to the attic.(Which is when I started taking pictures.
B/H on one of the few times he's helped.

The mess down below.

Bathroom floor joists were 1/2"+ out of level, so it was removed also, and sister boards were installed.

Someday I'll get to the last of the old electric.
20160324_150142_resized.jpg
This made it not too bad to do werk.

Starting to take shape.

Then the effing rain came last week.

Which brings it to it's current state.

I'm doing a staycation (first one ever for me) this week, trying to finish up getting ready for the HVAC guy coming in Friday. Updates, if anyone cares, to follow.

Guess I resized the pictures too effing small.:foul:

Nice work Timo! To bad Rolls is out of commission (or would he help?) and butthead, well he's just butthead (aka capt. pullout). I'm heading out to AZ this Sat, have two rides planed with my buddies. I'd take pictures and do a ride report but resize, "whatever" the photos is to labor sum. Maybe I'll post them in mihylos thread over on TT.

Old homes and small projects, doesn't seem ever work out that way does it? Looks like your on top of it though, keep the updates rolling.

Believe it or not, but I would be willing to help out. I just hope Timo doesn't see this while he's on the roof. The shock may cause him to fall off. :smirk:

No wood was cut, or nails pounded on Monday of the Staycation. Once it was decided that the fan unit was going in the attic, I had to figure out how to get a gas supply there. Once again, another can of worms. I started digging down following the galvanized line, that was not wrapped or coated, and buried some 60+ years ago, the sight was not a good one. So at that point I ran all new supply to the house, and pressure tested it for a couple weeks.

Good to go for the switch over Monday AM.

The hell that was already done.

The stove feed, and new HVAC unit feed for the downstairs.

Water heater already switched over.

New supply to the dryer.

Now all that's left is to continue this one to the attic.

The resize picture nightmare continues. I had a shot of the old line that I took out. If you held it up to the light, you could see light through it.
