Wowsers the friction material had actually split away from the metal back plate on the inside pad:-(

I always keep my tail gate down on my 29/64ths F150.....partly because the latches are starting to fail, and party, or mostly because it helps hide my expired tags.
Hey if bicycles don't need tags, neither do I.
Yeah....that's an idea, maybe if people start tailgating me I can start ejecting stuff like that at them. On second thought I already have enough of the truck falling off onto oncoming traffic anyways.
