Lets make it street legal!

Okay I'm not having any luck selling the 2001 WR250 and I'm not giving it away like people seem to think I should. So I figure I should make it a Dual Sport.
It has a 3.7 gallon fuel tank
A six speed
Its been rebuilt less then 5 hours ago
Its doing nothing at the house.

I need to add blinkers, mirrors, and some sort of speed-o-meter and I'm planning to put some dual sport tires on. So am I forgetting anything? Do you guys have any suggestions for any of the parts I need to get?

Hhhm it doesn't show a 01 or 02 wonder if they are the same as the 03?

With what they want for a kit I think I would be better selling the bike and putting it towards a dual sport. But why are dual sports such pigs. Most are close to 300+ pounds. YIKES!
The Beta 450RS is 250lbs. Your WR is 256lb.

Exactly what do you think "giving it away" means? What are you asking? Defining a value is kind of tough, but I'll make a wild ass guess something in the vicinity of $2k or a little more. So what are you asking for it?

I'm not sure that going through the near $600 process is going to get you any more value for the bike. It's only going to raise the value if there is demand and I don't know if the increase will be as much as you spend doing it.

Right now is a tough time to sell toys like a dirt bike. There are a ton of desperate people dumping things for low value so they can make their next set of payments. It is a buyers market.

Yeah I have it at $2,000 its had to top end rebuild, plastic has the usual check marks, fires on the first kick (Now that I know how to start it:lol:) Has new rear tire, new pro taper bars, new hot start lever and cable, and I have a new tire for the front just haven't put it on yet. Radiators are clean and straight, seat is perfect, forks seals are new, really only thing its missing is the head light. It has a number plate on it. Oh and it has the adjustable needle in the carb(Can't remember what you call it) New front sprocket (I lowered the gearing) They want to offer me $1400:lol: Its a nice spare bike for $1400.:smirk: The last guy told me "I know where one just like this is in Idaho Falls for $1600!" I told him that will be a nice 600 mile round trip. Good Luck.
