Buck, My uncle used to hunt dove all the time.... with a SLINGSHOT!!!!!!!
did that up until about 2 yrs ago. He's 82 now and has the cancer.... we'll see if he can beat it... he still comes up to the farm and walks the property. OH and he uses a slingshot because hunting dove is illegal here even though they are like rats here... they are everywhere.

Ohio dove season opens up on September 1! That is Saturday! We will get up before dawn, and motor out just as the cusp of the sun is coming up. I have to say, in September, cool nights, hot days...it's magical for an hour at sun-up.
There is a heavy mist as thick as a cloud that seeks the lowest point as the temp rises. So it flows like a giant river between hills. It is totally the coolest thing in the world!
And then the doves start flying!
If you leave your vehicle with less than 50 shells, you will be giggling and running back to the truck for more!
Sept 1 is opening day! It's gonna be a blast fest!
