I'm still here

Not many ride reports being posted, perhaps due to it being a hundred degrees every day?
The bug to go ride bit me bad, screw the heat. Started out on the desert floor, went up to where there are trees.

Cooler days will be here before you know it. Hopefully soon, riding during the day, eating and a few cool ones around a bonfire at night with the DBA crew is in the cards.

Looks like fun. I have not been on the bike since Pres Day Weekend, bad I know but I am not brave like you and go out in this heat. I have a hard enough time mowing the lawn. :smirk: Nice pics though. Where did you go for this one?

man... heat or no heat with a ride and view like that I would out all the time. I have to deal with heat if i want to ride all or ride in the snow. There is only a coulple weeks out the year when it is either too hot or too cold so do what you gotta do. all these riders that say its too hot to ride are starting so sound like the track riders that say  I won't ride unless its a groomed, watered track  you know who you are :smirk:

Barren Ridge / Pinetree Canyon just north of Mojave.

So you ride up that hill and ride down Barren ridge or just riding the jeep roads up there? I hate getting up that hill. Loose steep hills and heavy me usually means sinking in. Haven't tried it on the Beta yet, but I will.

I hear you Jax. Anytime you want to see some of this scenery, just come on out. I'll even set you up on a sweet 2 smoke to ride. It may not be a slowsuki, but I can slap a couple Rockstar stickers on it for you and you will be good to go. You may even try to figure out how to get it back on the plane after you twist the throttle..:smirk:

I use the switchback trail just north of Mojave that starts off by the shooting pit. I was amazed to find that it had been recently graded all the way to the top, that dozer operator must be one fearless dude. The trail is just as bad getting up due to the hardpack being churned up, my bike was getting pretty hot going up that grade in soft dirt.
Even though I was about 8 miles from the truck, I could have coasted 7.5 miles back if the bike broke down.

 I need to get some exploring in this winter. There is a trail off the 33 just above Ojai that I have had my eye on...
